Bloomington, Ill. – The Thunder men's basketball team, ranked 22nd in this week's D3Hoops.com Top-25, lost a 63-60 decision at Illinois Wesleyan on Wednesday night. Wheaton falls to 12-4 overall and 2-3 in the CCIW. The Titans are now 9-7 overall and 3-2 in league play. Wheaton will travel to Elmhurst on Saturday night for a 7:30 PM tipoff against the Bluejays in R.A. Faganel Hall. Saturday's game will be broadcast on WETN radio at 88.1 FM in the Wheaton area and on the internet at www.wetn.org.
The Titans held a 34-28 lead at halftime and led throughout the second half. Illinois Wesleyan led 61-57 with 49-seconds left in regulation when Thunder junior
Jeremy Berntsen sank a three-pointer to cut the hosts' lead to 61-60. A strong Wheaton defensive stand on the Titans' next trip down the court gave Wheaton the ball and the opportunity to take the lead, however, a Thunder turnover with five-seconds left proved costly as the Titans made two free throws with three-seconds remaining to give the hosts the 63-60 victory.

Andy Wiele grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds and added six points. Jacob Carwell scored six points, with four rebounds.
Sean Johnson led Illinois Wesleyan with 15 points and four assists. Sean Dwyer tallied 11 points and Travis Rosenkranz scored 11, with three steals. The Titans' Brett Chamernik scored eight points, with seven rebounds.
Wheaton shot 44.2% (23-52) from the field, with 33.3% (3-9) from three-point range and 91.7% (11-12) at the free throw line. Illinois Wesleyan posted a 47.2% (25-53) field goal percentage; the Titans shot 46.2% (6-13) from three-point range and 50% (7-14) at the free throw line. Wheaton out-rebounded the Titans 38-27, with an 11-4 edge on the offensive glass.
