Top-ranked Thunder remain undefeated with a 5-0 win against Kenyon

Wheaton, Ill. - The number one-ranked Thunder women's soccer team extended its winning streak to 25 matches with a 5-0 victory over #23-ranked Kenyon College on Saturday afternoon. With the win Wheaton improves to 6-0-0. Kenyon is now 3-3 on the year. Wheaton will host Trinity University (Texas) on Monday at 7 PM. Monday's match will be broadcast on WETN at 88.1 FM in the Wheaton area.

Sophomore Taryne Lee (PICTURED) scored in the ninth minute of a double-assist from seniors Libby Passiales and Sarah Richardson. One minute and 37 seconds later, Richardson scored off a deflection from a Passiales shot, for her team-leading 11th goal of the season.

Freshman Brittany Bergh scored her second goal of the season on a long breakaway in the 40th minute. A minute later, Lee finished off a cross from junior Erin Hodina, scoring her fifth goal of the season. Hodina scored her first goal of the season 6 minutes into the second half.

Wheaton out-shot Kenyon 23-6 and held a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks. Wheaton goalkeeper Kristin Eggert made one save, not allowing a goal in 45:00. Freshman Ingrid Erickson made three saves in 29 minutes, and senior Allison Ippel made 2 saves in securing the Thunder shutout. Kenyon goalkeeper Rosie Davis made eight saves and allowed five goals.
