North Central College defeats the Thunder wrestling team 31-12

Wheaton, Ill. (2/1) – The Wheaton Thunder wrestling team hosted North Central College on Thursday night for a dual match in King Arena. The Cardinals defeated Wheaton 31-12.

In tonight's 184-pound match freshman Lars Skoglund trailed North Central's Jeremy Ceja 3-0 heading into the third period. Skoglund earned a point for an escape early in the match and tied the match at 3-3 with a takedown in the final 40-seconds. In the final 10-seconds of the final period Skoglund was credited with a near fall to dramatically earn a 6-3 decision over Ceja. Wheaton junior Toby Boltz was a victor in a 5-2 decision against North Central's Greg Schroeder in the 174-pound weight class.

184-pounds: Lars Skoglund (Wheaton) def. Jeremy Ceja (North Central), 6-3 decision

197-pounds: Vinny Sapienza (North Central) def. Dan Glenn (Wheaton), 5-2 decision
