Orlando, Fla. (3/11) - The Thunder women's tennis team won all three of its matches during its Spring Break trip to Orlando to improve the team to a flawless 13-0 on the season. The Thunder opened the trip with a 9-0 win against St. Vincent's College (Pa.) on March 6 (individual results are not currently available from this match).
On March 8 the Thunder, ranked fifth in Division III by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), defeated Coe College, the region's 11th-ranked team, 7-2. Wheaton's number-one singles player, All-American Jordan Hook defeated Coe's Molly Fiala 6-3, 6-2 in a match with significant regional implications. Fiala is ranked second in the most recent ITA Central Region singles rankings, while Hook is the third ranked player.
Wheaton closed the trip to the Sunshine State on March 8 with a 6-3 victory against NCAA Division II Grand Valley State University. Grand Valley State (16-4) entered the match ranked fourth in the Great Lakes Region of Division II. The Lakers opened the match with a 3-0 lead by defeating the Thunder in all three doubles matched. Wheaton rallied by winning all six singles matches.
