21st-ranked Thunder opens CCIW play with a 7-0 win at Millikin

Decatur, Ill. (9/20) - The Thunder women's soccer team opened conference play with a 7-0 victory at Millikin University on Wednesday afternoon. Wheaton is now 6-1-0 on the season and 1-0-0 in conference play.

Wheaton held a 2-0 lead at halftime of today's match thanks for first half goals by sophomore Erin Hodina and junior Sarah Richardson. Freshman Taryne Lee and senior Keren Jezequel each scored two second half goals.

Richardson added her team-best 10th goal of the season in the second half to account for the 7-0 final score. The goal moved her into sixth place on Wheaton's All-Time goals scored list with 35, and a tie for sixth in points (Katie Shubin 1998-2001) with 83 total points.
