Oshkosh, Wis. (11/24) - The Thunder women's basketball team resumed its difficult non-conference schedule on Friday night with a 68-50 loss at Wisconsin-Oshkosh. The Titans led the Thunder 38-22 at halftime thanks to an 18-3 run that stretched the hosts' lead from 8-2 to 26-5 with 10:20 left in the opening period. Wheaton cut the Titans' lead to eight points on two occasions in the second half, the last time coming with a 49-41 edge with 8:20 left in the game.
The Thunder shot 44.9% (22-49) from the field, with 16.7% (1-6) from three-point range and 55.6% (5-9) at the free throw line. Wisconsin-Oshkosh recorded a 47.9% (23-48) field goal percentage, with 36.4% (4-11) from three-point range and a 66.7% (18-27) effort at the charity stripe.
Sophomore guard Kathleen Fidelia led the Thunder with 12 points, three assists and three steals. Senior Brittany Cooper and junior Jill Trenz each scored 10 points, with five rebounds. Cooper added four assists and three steals, while Trenz blocked three shots and added four steals.
Kayla Sharpee led the Titans with 21 points on eight-for-10 shooting from the field, nine rebounds and four steals. Becky Knapp scored 20 points, with three field goals from behind the three-point arc. Whitney Tyriver added 13 points, with five assists and three steals.
