Wheaton, Ill. (2/3) – The Wheaton women's basketball team earned its fourth straight victory and ninth win in its last 10 games with a 56-44 victory at home against Augustana on Tuesday night. With the win Wheaton improves to 14-6 overall and 9-1 in the CCIW, while Augustana is 4-18 overall and 1-10 in league play.

The Thunder will host 10th-ranked Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon at 2 PM. The Titans are currently undefeated in CCIW play with a 9-0 record. Illinois Wesleyan's game for Tuesday against Millikin was postponed until Thursday night in Bloomington. Saturday's game will be broadcast on WETN radio at 88.1 FM and on WETN-TV in the Wheaton area. The game will also be carried on the internet with streaming audio and video at www.wetn.org.

Wheaton held a 10-8 lead with 11:30 remaining in the first half. However, the Thunder closed the opening half with a 21-5 run to own a 31-13 lead at halftime. Wheaton's biggest lead of the contests was a 20-point advantage early in the first half, as the Thunder never allowed Augustana to hold a lead in the contest.

Sophomore Kathleen Fidelia led the Thunder with 16 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals in a well-rounded effort. Senior Elizabeth Fox scored 11 points, with seven rebounds in the win. Center Jill Trenz scored seven points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds, with five blocked shots and three steals. Brittany Cooper collected eight rebounds.

Kim Rymer led the Vikings with 13 points and seven rebounds. Rachel Newtoff came off the Augustana bench to score 10 points. Maegen Skahill grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.

Wheaton shot 29.7% (19-64) from the field, with 13.6% (3-22) from three-point range and 71.4% (15-21) at the free throw line. Augustana posted a 29.8% (17-57) field goal percentage, with 7.7% (1-13) from three-point range and 52.9% (9-17) at the charity stripe.
