Wheaton. Ill. – Wheaton College junior Pete Ittersagen has earned a selection to the Division III All-American football team as selected by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). Ittersagen becomes the 10th player from Wheaton to earn All-American recognition from the AFCA. Wheaton has had a player selected to the AFCA Division III All-American team for each of the past five seasons.

Ittersagen's All-American selection for this year is at defensive back. Earlier this fall the starting cornerback for the Thunder was recognized as the 2007 "Don Larson Defensive Player of the Year" by the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) and was tabbed as a First Team All-CCIW selection at both defensive back and as a return specialist.

Ittersagen led Wheaton with 72 total tackles this year, including 63 solo stops. He picked off three interceptions and tallied 18 total passes broken-up, with two forced fumbles to his credit. Ittersagen led the CCIW in passes broken-up and was ranked second among all Division III football players in the category during the regular season.

As a punt returner, Ittersagen's two returns for touchdowns tied Wheaton's single-season record. He had 28 returns this season for 404 yards, averaging 14.4 yards per return.
