Wheaton, Ill. – The Wheaton Thunder women's basketball team opened its season on Friday night with a 75-56 win against St. Mary's College (Ind.) in the first day of action at the Lee Pfund Classic. Wheaton advanced to tomorrow's Pfund Classic Championship Game at 3 PM, versus UW-Platteville. UW-Platteville defeated Aurora 67-63 in today's other game of the tournament. St. Mary's will play Aurora at 1 PM on Saturday in the tournament's consolation game.
Wheaton dominated the Belles in the second half, out-scoring St. Mary's 51-26 in the second half. Wheaton shot 56.3% (18-32) in the second half, with a 66.7% (4-6) effort from behind the three-point arc.

Lissie McAlvey led the Thunder with 15 points in her collegiate debut. The rookie grabbed seven rebounds, with three assists. Junior captain
Kathleen Fidelia (PICTURED) had a tremendous game, with 14 points, 10 assists, six rebounds and six steals. Sophomore

Annie Bowen added nine points, with six rebounds. Guard
Lynnea Kvam scored eight points, with four assists.
Allison Kessler led St. Mary's with 12 points and four assists. Anna Kammrath scored 11 points on 5-for-6 shooting from the field. Katie Rashid added 10 points, with three steals for the Belles.
