#1-Women's soccer team closes the regular season with a 4-0 win at DePauw

Greencastle, Ind. – The top-ranked Thunder women's soccer team closed out the regular season on Saturday night with a 4-0 win at DePauw University. Wheaton improves to 20-0-0 on the season, marking the first time in school history that the Thunder has posted a perfect record during the regular season.

Sophomore Taryne Lee (PICTURED) gave the Thunder a 1-0 lead with a goal 24:53 into the match, off of a Sarah Richardson assist. Wheaton held a 2-0 lead at halftime thanks to a Richardson goal at the 37:24 mark of the match, off of a Kira Davis assist.

Junior Kari Klynstra scored off of an assist from freshman Brittany Bergh 58:20 into the match to extend the Thunder lead to 3-0. Lee's team-best 22nd goal of the year came 73:40 into the match to account for the final score of 4-0.

Wheaton dominated the Tigers statistically in tonight's match. The Thunder out-shot DePauw 24-5, with a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks. Wheaton goalkeeper Kristin Eggert played 66 minutes in the Thunder net and junior Justine Morey played the final 24 minutes. DePauw goalkeeper Lauren Palfrey made 10 saves and allowed four goals in the Tigers' net.

The CCIW Champion Thunder will host a CCIW Women's Soccer Tournament Semifinal match on Tuesday at 7 PM, against a yet-to-be-determined opponent. If Wheaton wins Tuesday's semifinal the Thunder will host the CCIW Women's Soccer Championship Match at 7 PM next Saturday night.
