Thunder men's soccer team falls in a 1-0 loss to Carthage

BOXSCORE

Wheaton, Ill.
– The Thunder men's soccer team dropped a tough 1-0 loss to Carthage College on Wednesday night at Joe Bean Stadium. Wheaton is now 10-5-1 overall and 3-2-0 in conference play. The Thunder will travel to Elmhurst College on Friday afternoon at 2:30 PM for a key CCIW match against the second-place Bluejays. Friday's match will be broadcast on WETN radio at 88.1 FM in the Wheaton area and on the internet at www.wetn.org.

Wheaton and the Red Men battled through a scoreless first half. Carthage's Brian Santella scored the go-ahead goal when he got the ball into the net off of a Greg Goldsberry assist. Santella's goal would be enough for the Redmen, despite a Wheaton advantage of 16-9 in shots during the second half.
