#1-Ranked Thunder tops 10th-ranked Washington (Mo.), 1-0

Sarah Richardson's 16th goal of the year was the game-winner at Washington (Mo.)

St. Louis, Mo. – The top-ranked Thunder women's soccer team earned a hard-fought 1-0 win at 10th-ranked Washington University (Mo.) on Monday night. Wheaton improves to 18-0 on the season and has won 36 consecutive matches. The Thunder will host Carthage on Wednesday at 4:30 PM in the final home match of the regular season. Washington falls to 12-2 on the year.

Junior Kari Klynstra distributed a cross to senior Sarah Richardson who headed the ball into the net, 36:16 into the match for the lone goal of the night.

Wheaton out-shot the Bears 13-8 and held an 8-4 advantage in corner kicks. Senior goalkeeper Kristin Eggert made three saves in recording her sixth shutout of the season. Washington netminder Carrie Sear made four saves and allowed one goal in the Bears' net.
