Volleyball team closes conference schedule with a 3-1 win against North Central

Wheaton, Ill. - The Thunder volleyball team was a 3-1 (30-23, 26-30, 31-29, 30-28) victor against North Central on Tuesday night in King Arena. Wheaton is now 20-8 overall and 4-3 in league play.

Tonight's match was final conference match of the regular season for both teams. With tonight's win, Wheaton will be the third-seeded team in upcoming CCIW Tournament play-in round and will host sixth-seeded Elmhurst College (3-4) next Tuesday night at 7 PM in King Arena. The winners of next Tuesday's four play-in matches will compete in the CCIW Tournament semifinals and finals next Friday and Saturday at the highest remaining seed.

Junior Mallory Sullivan led the Thunder in tonight's win against North Central with 17 kills and she added a team-high 23 digs, with three total blocks. Lisa Jutsum added 13 kills and Kelli Miller recorded 10 kills, with four total blocks. Hannah McGinnis and Calla Young each had seven kills and McGinnis added six total blocks. Junior setter Annie Himmelhaver (PICTURED) distributed 50 assists, wtih 21 digs. Senior Leah Whiteley-Rupp contributed 17 digs, with a match-high 48 service receptions.
