Rock Island, Ill. (10/3) – The Thunder men's soccer team lost a 1-0 CCIW decision at Augustana on Tuesday night. With the loss Wheaton falls to 5-5-2 on the season and 1-1-1 in conference play. Augustana is now 5-4 on the year and 3-0 in CCIW action. The Thunder will host North Central on Friday night at 7 PM on East McCully Field.

Augustana's Nick Consentino scored off of an assist from teammate Matt Meyer 15:34 into the match to give the Vikings a 1-0 lead. A key moment in the contest occurred 57:45 into the match when a Wheaton penalty kick that could have tied the score at 1-1 sailed above the crossbar as the Vikings held onto their 1-0 advantage.

Augustana out-shot the Thunder 19-13, including a 12-5 edge in the first half. Wheaton had six corner kicks on the night, while Augustana recorded three. Wheaton goalkeeper Ryan Souders (LEFT) made 10 saves and allowed one goal in 90 minutes of action in the net. Augustana netminder Michael Dolan made nine saves in recording the shutout for the hosts.
