Tanner Shultz is in his sixth season as an Assistant Wrestling Coach at Wheaton. He is a graduate of Lyons Township High School in Western Springs, Illinois where he wrestled for four years. During his high school wrestling career, he achieved State Qualifier, All-Conference, and was voted Honorary Team Captain. Tanner was also the winner of a teacher-voted Health Award given to one male and one female athlete for demonstrating exceptional leadership and character qualities.Â

Tanner continued his wrestling career at the Division I level for the University of Wyoming where he earned undergraduate degrees in exercise science and nutrition. He later earned a graduate (Master's) degree in exercise physiology.

Tanner is the founder and current owner of Functional Fitness- For Stronger Living. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), a Certified Nutrition Coach (Pn-1*), and has received a coaching endorsement from the University of Wyoming. Tanner has been a coach and personal trainer for over 15 years.Â

Tanner and his wife, Elissa, have four kids and have lived in the Wheaton/Winfield area since 2004.
