Trey Martin enters his third season as an assistant coach for the Thunder baseball program in 2017-18. A 2014 graduate of Wheaton, Martin is tied for the most appearances in program history with 162 career games play. The 2014 CCIW Pitcher of the Year, Martin earned All-American honors from the ABCA in 2012 and D3Baseball.com All-American honors in 2014. Martin ranks second in program history in career home runs (29) and RBI (160), third in hits (211) and doubles (42), fifth in slugging percentage (.575), sixth in pitching wins (14) and seventh in pitching strikeouts (169). The three-time All-Region and All-CCIW selection ranks in the Top-10 in 17 career categories and Top-10 in 18 single season records. Martin's 29-inning consecutive scoreless inning streak in 2014 is the seventh longest streak in Division III history.
