Nate Serenius is a senior captain on the Wheaton men's basketball team. Below is a brief interview with Nate.

Q: What is your major?

A:
Business/Economics

Q: What (if any) plans do you have after graduation?

A:
I guess it’s trying to land a job like most plan to after school. I’ve definitely considered staying around the Chicago area and have pursued some opportunities here. Some of my interests thus far have been in finance and banking.

Q: Why did you choose to attend Wheaton and play basketball?

A:
My sister was an ’08 grad and was the first to introduce me to Wheaton. I started looking into it and by my senior year Wheaton became one of my final choices for school. I knew I wanted to continue to play basketball at a great program and strong academic institution. Wheaton also had a strong Christian environment. It had what I was looking for in so many respects. Now looking back, I feel Wheaton is where I was supposed to be.

Q: What do you enjoy most about Wheaton?

A:
Out of everything, I’d say I enjoy the people at Wheaton the most. My teammates, friends, and faculty have greatly impacted my life. The community and environment is truly unique at Wheaton.

Q: What is your favorite basketball memory so far in your time at Wheaton?

A: It probably has to be the run we made at the end of last season. We had a strong close to conference season and ended up getting a bid to the NCAA tournament, which unfortunately ended in the sweet sixteen for us. I also think of our team’s international trips as a great memory. We go on a trip every three years.  Chase Almen and I were on the trip to Spain our freshmen year with the ‘09-10 team. This summer the team is going to India, which should be another great trip.
