Kaitlyn Le Baudour is a senior on the Thunder women's soccer team. She is in her second season as a team captain for the program. Below is a brief interview with the Thunder captain.

Q: What is your major?
A: Spanish and Geology with an International Relations minor

Q: Why did you choose to attend and play a sport at Wheaton?
A:
I chose to attend Wheaton because I knew this was the place I would be able to form the relationships that were worth having for the rest of my life.

Q:  What do you enjoy most about playing soccer at Wheaton?
A: I enjoy my teammates and how we are united in our goal to play soccer for the glory of God. They are my sisters and best friends. And secondly, my coaches who have taught me so much about becoming the best person I can be off the field.

Q: What do you enjoy most about Wheaton?
A:
I love the Geology department! I think it’s the best kept secret at Wheaton College. Whoops, guess I let the secret out. Basically it is the support and community that surround me and my team. We have so many people praying for us and cheering for us, and it makes what we do out there so much more worthwhile.

Q:  What were you feelings following your rally from a 2-0 deficit against Wash U in the NCAA Tournament?
A:
I am humbled by that victory. I felt like if we had won that game straight up it would have been exciting, but winning the way we did we got to praise God and just be so thankful for what he has given us. The adrenaline still hasn’t worn off. It was the most exciting game to be a part of in my soccer career and showed me a lot about my teams character and our fighting spirit.

Q:  What are your thoughts heading into the Final Four on December 2?
A:
The last time myself and the other seniors were there was our freshman year. It was so exciting, but we weren’t completely invested emotionally in the team yet. Being seniors we are so grateful for the opportunity to represent Wheaton in the Final Four once again, this time having poured so much into the program.

I can’t tell you how great it feels knowing we have come as far as we possibly can as a team this season. We are humble and confident going into this phase of the tournament and excited to play the game we love. We are also very aware of the responsibility we have to glorify God through our actions and play on an even grander scale. We take this very seriously on our team. One of the best parts about making it this far is knowing that we have the opportunity to impact so many more people for Christ.
