Jesse Scott named offensive coordinator for the Wheaton football program; Eric Terrazas adds a new role

–Wheaton College (Ill.) football coach Mike Swider has announced the hiring of Jesse Scott as the offensive coordinator for the Thunder football team. Scott replaces Josiah Sears, who departed earlier this month to become the head football coach at Benedictine University. In addition to Scott's appointment as offensive coordinator, current assistant coach Eric Terrazas will take on a new a role.

Scott has served on the Wheaton coaching staff for the past six seasons, including the last four years as offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator. Scott will continue to oversee the Thunder offensive line and serve as recruiting coordinator. In his time as Wheaton's offensive line coach, Scott has mentored three All-American offensive linemen: Spencer Clark (2014); Matt Snebold (2015) and Peter Gibson (2015). Clark received the 2014 Rimington Award as the top center in Division III football.

Scott, an All-American offensive lineman for the Thunder, graduated from Wheaton in 2009. He enjoyed a stellar playing career from 2005-08, featuring All-CCIW selections in his junior and senior seasons. As a senior, Scott earned D3Football.com All-North Region First Team honors and was named to the D3football.com All-America First Team. As the starting right tackle, he was part of the record-breaking 2008 Thunder offense that broke 17 single-season and career records while advancing to the NCAA Division III National Semifinals. Scott earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business and Economics from Wheaton in 2009.

10742Eric Terrazas (PICTURED LEFT) will serve as Wheaton's quarterbacks and passing game coordinator in 2016. Terrazas has served on the Wheaton coaching staff since 2012. Most recently has been a linebackers coach and special teams coordinator for the past two years. In 2013 Terrazas served as the program's tight ends coach and in 2012 was a defensive assistant coach, working with the Thunder linebackers.

A graduate of the University of Illinois, Terrazas played high school football and wrestled at nearby Wheaton North High School. Terrazas wrestled at Illinois for four years, serving as the team captain in his senior season with the Fighting Illini.
