Wheaton, Ill. – Wheaton College graduate Pete Ittersagen has signed a contract to join the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League. Ittersagen was a three-time All-American at Wheaton as a cornerback and kick/punt returner.

Wheaton, Ill. – Three members of the Wheaton College football team have been named to the D3football.com All-North Region Team for 2009. Since the D3football.com All-North Region Team began in 2005 Wheaton has had 26 All-Region selections. Wheaton has had 12 First Team All-Region picks in that time, six Second Team honorees and eight Third Team selections.

Kansas City, Mo. – Wheaton College alumnus Andy Studebaker (’08) made his first professional start on Sunday afternoon for the Kansas City Chiefs. Studebaker started at outside linebacker for the Chiefs, replacing injured veteran Mike Vrabel.

Wheaton, Ill. – Nine members of the Wheaton College football team have been named to the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) All-Conference Team for 2009. Five Wheaton players earned First Team recognition with four Thunder honorees on the Second Team. Five of Wheaton’s All-Conference selections were on the defensive side of the ball, with four on offense.

Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton football team lost its regular season finale 35-30 on Saturday to Carthage College. Wheaton closes the year with a 7-3 overall record and a 4-3 mark in conference play. Carthage is now 7-3 overall and 4-3 in CCIW play.

Bloomington, Ill. – The 12th-ranked Wheaton football team fell to #19-Illinois Wesleyan 20-17 on Saturday in a key CCIW battle. The Titans scored all 20 of their points in the second half of today’s game, overcoming a 10-0 Wheaton lead early in the third quarter.

Wheaton, Ill. – Three members of the Wheaton football team have been selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V football team for 2009. Brian Hollet and Steven Lutes each earned First Team recognition, while Robert Ramsay was a Second Team pick. As First Team All-District honorees, Hollett and Lutes have made the ballot for the prestigious ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America team that will be announced on November 24.
