La Crosse, Wis. - The Wheaton wrestling team competed in a tri-match at UW-La Crosse on Saturday. Wheaton opened the event with a 34-9 victory against Lakeland College on Saturday morning. The Thunder dropped a 34-10 to fifth-ranked UW-La Crosse to close out the event.
Jared Fekete (157-pounds),
Logan Walkup (184-pounds) and
Mikey Swider (197-pounds) each posted 2-0 records for the Thunder on the day.
Eric Wales (141-pounds),
Frank Aiello (165-pounds),
Caleb Odell (174-pounds), and
Max Gierke (285-pounds) joined Fekete, Walk and Swider as victors in the match against Lakeland.
Wheaton will host the
Pete Willson-Wheaton Invitational next weekend in King Arena. The event is the oldest and largest small-college wrestling tournament in the nation.
