Wheaton, Ill. – The Wheaton College men's soccer team has been selected to host one of four Sectionals this weekend as part of the 2014 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament. Wheaton will face Wartburg on Friday in one of Friday's two Sectional Semifinal matches and Trinity University (Texas) will take on Loras in Friday's other Semifinal.
Wheaton, recipients of a First-Round bye, advanced to the Sectional with a 3-0 victory against UW-Whitewater last Saturday at Joe Bean Stadium in a Second Round match. Wartburg tied MSOE 1-1 in its First Round match, advancing to the Second Round with a 5-4 advantage against the Engineers in a penalty kick shootout. The Knights defeated University of Chicago 2-0 on Sunday in a Second Round match.
Trinity defeated Hardin-Simmons 2-1 in the First Round on Saturday and the Tigers defeated UT-Dallas 1-0 on Sunday in the Second Round. Loras was a First Round winner against Westminster with a 2-0 victory on Saturday the Duhawks advanced to the Sectional with a 2-0 victory against Gustavus Adolphus on Sunday in the Second Round.
Admission for each sessions this weekend is for $6 for adults, $3 for students and senior citizens, $2 for ages 3-12. No free passes will be accepted.
