Wheaton, Ill. - Wheaton senior
Jesse Peterson has been invited to participate in the Carolina Panthers' upcoming Rookie Mini Camp on May 9-12. Peterson was an All-CCIW selection at Offensive Tackle for the Thunder Football team this past year.
Thunder head coach
Mike Swider noted of Peterson's invitation to an NFL camp, "Jesse came to Wheaton with minimal high school experience. He spent his first two years playing at tight end and we had a need at offensive line after his sophomore year. He played two years on our offensive line and did a great job." Swider concluded, "Jesse has worked exceedingly hard since the end of the year to get this opportunity."
Earlier this spring, Peterson was invited by the NFL to participate at its Super Regional Combine event following strong showings at Northwestern University's Pro Day and at the NFL Regional Combine held at the Chicago Bears' Halas Hall in Lake Forest, Illinois. Peterson measured in at 6' 4” and 303-pounds at the events and was cited by scouts for his sound technique and measurables. Through the years, seventeen Wheaton Football players have signed professional contracts.
