Marshall Hollingsworth named CCIW Offensive Player of the Week

Wheaton, Ill.- With a three-goal performance last week, Wheaton sophomore Marshall Hollingsworth has been honored by the CCIW as this week's conference Offensive Player of the Week. Hollingsworth is the third Wheaton men's soccer player to earn the award. Last year's CCIW Newcomer of the Year, this is Hollingsworth's first conference player of the week award.

Hollingsworth provided a pair of game-winning goals last week as the Thunder went 2-0-0 in conference play. Hollingsworth broke a 2-2 tie in the 56th minute of the game with his third goal of the season and then added an insurance goal in the 68th minute of Wheaton's 5-2 victory over Augustana on Wednesday. His goal at the 62:19 mark of Saturday's 3-2 victory at Millikin proved to be the game-winning goal as well.

In 14 games this season, Hollingsworth has scored five goals and recorded four assists. Three of his five goals have served as game-winning goals. Hollingsworth was a First Team All-CCIW forward last season and was also named NSCAA Second Team All-Region.
