The Wheaton College football program has announced that 34 new student-athletes have submitted their deposit to attend Wheaton College, with the intent to play for the Thunder football team beginning in the fall of 2010. The group includes 34 incoming freshmen and one transfer.
Traditionally these recruits come from around the country and this year is no different. They represent 12 different states and one foreign country (Germany). Other than Illinois, Michigan and Texas are the states boasting the most newcomers to the Thunder program.

Mike Swider mentions, “Here at Wheaton we are really looking for a unique young man that is often very difficult to identify. Each year we recruit nationwide, as we search for these individuals that will appreciate Wheaton and be competitive players on the field." Swider continues, "This year we are once again excited about our incoming players. Positionally, it is a very balanced class that also met some of our specific needs. There is definitely some talent represented in it as well! They are our kind of kids who will not only be solid representatives of Wheaton College, but also young men who love the game of football and play it well."
