Studebaker placed on Chiefs' 53-man roster; Ittersagen released by Jaguars

Andy Studebaker played in six games for Kansas City in 2008

Wheaton, Ill. – Wheaton alumnus Andy Studebaker has been placed on the Kansas City Chiefs' 53-man roster for the 2009 season. Fellow Wheaton grad Pete Ittersagen was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday, following a strong training camp with the Jaguars. Ittersagen can now be signed by another NFL team to join the 53-man roster or be signed to the eight-man practice squad of any NFL team.

Studebaker, a May 2008 graduate of Wheaton, joined the Chiefs in November 2008 when he was signed off of the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad. An outside linebacker, for the Chiefs, Studebaker recorded eight tackles, with six solo stops. He also made two quarterback sacks during the Chiefs' preseason games.

Ittersagen, a December 2008 graduate of Wheaton, signed as an undrafted free agent at defensive back with the Jaguars in April. Ittersagen played in Jacksonville's four preseason games as he accumulated six total tackles, including four solo stops. Ittersagen recorded an interception in the Jaguars' first preseason game against Miami. He also returned two punts in the preseason, with returns of 14 and 13 yards.
