Wheaton alums play in NFL Exhibition games

Wheaton alum Andy Studebaker has moved from the defensive line to outside linebacker for the KC Chiefs this season

Wheaton, Ill. – Wheaton alums Andy Studebaker and Pete Ittersagen played in NFL exhibition games in recent days for the Kansas City Chiefs and Jacksonville Jaguars, respectively.

Studebaker, a May 2008 graduate of Wheaton, is in the Chiefs training camp after being signed by the team to a two-year contract last November, off of the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad. An outside linebacker, Studebaker saw action on Saturday when the Chiefs hosted the Houston Texans. He assisted on a quarterback sack of 3-1/2 yards and tallied two quarterback hurries. He also recorded a tackle in special teams action. Studebaker and the Chiefs have resumed their training camp in River Falls, Wisconsin and Kansas City is next slated to be in action on August 21 at Minnesota.

Pete Ittersagen
Ittersagen, a December 2008 graduate of Wheaton is a defensive back with the Jaguars after signing a contract as an undrafted free agent in April. Ittersagen recorded an interception that he returned for nine yards in the second half of Jacksonville's preseason opener on Monday night at Miami. In addition to his work in the secondary, Ittersagen played on special teams coverage as well. The Jaguars second game of the preseason will be on August 22 when the team hosts the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
