Dr. Watt graduated from Wheaton College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and received his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School. He completed an internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Illinois Hospital and Affiliates.
Dr. Watt has been in private orthopedic practice in DuPage County since 1985, joining OAD Orthopedics in 1990.

Dr. Watt is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the care of shoulder and knee problems, and orthopedic sports medicine. He serves as the team physician for Wheaton North High School and Wheaton College, where he also teaches as an adjunct faculty member in the Applied Health Science Department.

Dr. Watt was founding chairman of DuPage Valley Physicians, has served as chairman of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Central DuPage Hospital, co-medical director of Central DuPage Rehabilitation, and numerous hospital and health-related committees. He volunteers at the Lawndale Christian Medical Center. Dr. Watt is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery with a Subspecialty Certificate in Orthopedic Sports Medicine. He is a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine.

Dr. Watt has served Wheaton Athletics since the fall of 2001. He visits the athletic training room Wednesday evenings throughout the school year. He oversees the orthopedic injuries of all Wheaton athletes.
