The Thunder women's basketball program announces newcomers for the 2018-19 season

Wheaton, Ill. – Wheaton College head women's basketball coach Kent Madsen has announced the addition of five freshman that have submitted their deposit to attend Wheaton College, with the intent to play for the Thunder women's basketball team beginning with the 2018-19 season.

Coach Madsen says of the group "We are extremely excited about this year's incoming freshmen class that includes Emily Nerem, Taylor Sanders, Annika Simonson, Hannah Swider, and Abby Wright.  The beauty of recruiting at Wheaton is that you have the opportunity to bring in talented players from all over the country.  This year we are bringing in five players from four states (Minnesota, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Illinois).  These are players that have played on successful high school and AAU teams.  In addition to their success on the court these five players excel in the classroom and have a strong desire to grow in their faith.  We look forward to the start of the season and blending this group with a strong returning group."
The five newcomers for 2017-18 are:

Emily Nerem (Edgerton, Minnesota/Southwest Minnesota Christian High School) is a 5'9" guard joining the Thunder after leading the Lady Eagles to 101 varsity wins in her four seasons.
