The Thunder men's basketball program announces five newcomers for the 2018-19 season

Wheaton, Ill. - Wheaton College head men's basketball coach Mike Schauer has announced his team's recruiting class for the 2018-19 season. The five students, hailing from five different states, have submitted a deposit to attend Wheaton College in the fall with plans of playing for the Thunder men's basketball team.

?Mike Schauer states of the newcomers to his program,  "We are excited for this group.  This recruiting class adds size and versatility to our team.  They can all play multiple positions at the collegiate level.  Obviously only time will tell how this group develops but the collective talent is there to make an immediate and significant impact."  

The newcomers with plans to join the Thunder in 2018-19 are:

Tyson Cruickshank (Highlands Ranch, Colo./ThunderRidge High School) - Cruickshank is a 5' 11" guard, earning honorable mention All-State recognition as a senior. He averaged 11.3 points, 3.4 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game in his final prep season. A First Team All-Continental League selection, he helped lead ThunderRidge High School to back-to-back Class 5A Final Four appearances. Strong work in the classroom also earned him First Team Academic All-State recognition.
 
Blake Foley (Houston, Texas/Houston Christian High School) - A 6' 8" forward, Foley averaged 10 points, 11 rebounds and two assists per game in his senior season at Houston Christian High School. A three-year varsity starter, he helped lead the Mustangs to a SPC State Championship as a senior. Foley earned All-District recognition following his junior and senior campaigns, and also earned Academic All-State accolades in his playing career.

Thomas Lipscomb (Overland Park, Kan./Heritage Christian Academy) – Lipscomb is a 6' 8" wing, earning honorable mention All-State recognition as a senior. He averaged 17 points and six rebounds per game in his senior season. A Second Team All-Conference selection as a senior, he scored a career-high 36 points, including nine three-pointers in his final prep season.

Brandon Orange (Elmhurst, Ill./Timothy Christian High School) - A 6' 8" forward, Orange was the 2017-18 Metro Suburban Red MVP and earned IHSA Class 2A honorable mention All-State recognition. As a senior he averaged 14 points, 10 rebounds with two assists per game. He helped lead Timothy Christian to the 2017-18 Metro Suburban Conference championship. As a senior, he earned Daily Herald DuPage County and Suburban Life All-Area Team recognition.

Christian St. Germain (Maitland, Fla./Orangewood Christian) – St. Germain is a 6' 5" guard. A team captain as a senior, he was named team MVP. He averaged 20.4 points per game in his senior season, with 5.3 rebounds per game. He ranked ninth in Central Florida in scoring during his senior campaign, and his 103 three-pointers ranked second in Central Florida. He reached the 1,000-point milestone for his career, with 1,127 points and he made 191 career three-pointers.
