Warrenville, Ill. - The Thunder women's cross country team placed third on Thursday afternoon at the North Central College Red/White Invitational. The event was a three-mile race at St. James Farm Forest Preserve and featured 87 competitors.
The North Central women's team finished first with 29 points, Washington University in St. Louis (WashU) placed second with 37 points, Wheaton finished third with 72 points, Augustana scored 105 points in fourth place, Moody Bible Institute tallied 127 points in fifth place, Aurora finished sixth with 182 points and Carroll tallied 211 points in seventh place.Â
North Central's Amanda Cortese finished first in the individual standings with a time of 18:04.69, Jeri Glickman of WashU finished second in 18:14.97 and North Central's Helen Majer rounded out the top-three with a time of 18:22.35 in third place.Â
Elise Topazian was the top performer for the Thunder with an effort of 19:01.21 in 10th place. Kenzie Quinn posted a time of 19:12.85 in 14th place andAllison Collins finished 15th in 19:14.44. Ellie Hawthorne ran the course in 19:19.22 in 16th place and Rebecca Marcotte finished 17th in 19:20.98. Emily Blom finished 21st overall with a time of 19:32.76 and Elise Alexander was 26th in 19:45.51.
The Thunder will return to action on November 12 at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional in Wineconne, Wisconsin. Â
