Warrenville, Ill. - The Wheaton College men's cross country team finished second on Thursday afternoon at the North Central College Red/White Invitational. The event was a three-mile race at St. James Farm Forest Preserve and featured 47 runners.

Washington University in St. Louis (WashU) finished first with 15 points. Wheaton finished second with 49 points and Aurora scored 82 points in third place. 

The top-three runners in the men's race hailed from WashU. Michael Sullivan of the Bears finished first with a time of 15:16.97, followed by teammate Paul D'Ambrosia  in second place with a time of 15:20.18 and Chris Blagg was third in 15:23.93.

Thomas Hudson was the top performer for the Thunder with an effort of 15:28.69 in seventh place. Miles Trujillo finished ninth in 15:34.15 and Dereck Woodcock posted a time of 15:41.25 in 12th place. Michael Larkin finished 13th in 15:44.28 and Simon Peterson was 14th in 15:45.75. Mitchell Smith posted a time of 15:56.00 in 17th place for the Thunder and Tyler Jones was 23rd in 16:12.08.

The Thunder will return to action on November 12 at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional in Wineconne, Wisconsin.
