Kenosha, Wis. – The Wheaton cross country teams participated in the "Lucian Rosa Invitational" on Saturday morning, hosted by UW-Parkside. The Thunder women's cross country team finished fourth in the 12-team meet.
UW-Parkside won the 6K women's competition with 42 points, UIC scored 52 points in second place, Cedarville tallied 58 points in third place, Wheaton finished fourth with 115 points and Carthage rounded out the top five with 151 points.
UW-Parkside's Moriah Palmer won the women's competition with a time of 21:23.4, Lizzie Deutsch of UIC finished second in 22:17.5 and Cedarville's Carsyn Koch placed third in 22:23.2.
Anna Trujillo was the top finisher for the Thunder women's program with a time of 23:25.5 in 13
th place.
Jacqueline Smith finished 24
th in 23:46.8 and
Megan Bailey posted a time of 24:07.4 in 31
st place.
Taylor Burton posted a time of 24:14.1 in 37
th place and
Catherine Stapleton placed 40
th in 24:22.8. Wheaton's Rebecca Marcotte posted a time of 24:34.9 in 43
rd place and
Emily Blom finished 46
th in 24:40.1
The Thunder will return to action next weekend at the UW-Oshkosh AAE Invitational in Wineconne, Wisconsin.
