James Waterman runs to All-American recognition in the steeplechase at the Division III Track Championships

competed in Thursday's second heat of the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase. He posted a time of 9:13.22, which was the fifth-fastest time of his respective heat. By finishing in the top-five of the 10-man heat, Waterman automatically advances to the 14-man finals on Saturday at 1:20 p.m. (EDT). Waterman's time this afternoon was the 11th-fastest effort of the 20 competitors today.

Dawson Miller of UW-Whitewater posted the fastest overall time in Thursday's prelims of the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase with an effort of 9:08.10. Michael LeDuc of Connecticut College, the defending National Champion in the event, posted the fastest time of the second heat (Waterman's heat) with a time of 9:11.64. MEN'S STEEPLECHASE RESULTS

Brett Haffner (PICTURED LEFT) competed in the first of two prelim heats of the men's 1,500-meter run on Thursday. He posted a time of 3:52.91 that was the ninth-fastest time in his heat and the 13th-fastest time of the 20 competitors in the two prelim events.

Overall, Haffner narrowly missed qualifying for Saturday's 12-man finals in the event. The 12th-place time and the final qualifying spot was recorded by Jamie Norton of Tufts in 3:52.28, just 00.63-seconds ahead of Haffner. MEN'S 1,500-METER RUN RESULTS
