Men's track and field places fourth at Benedictine Twilight Invitational

- The Wheaton men's track team placed fourth out of 17 teams at Friday night's Benedictine Twilight Invitational. Wheaton tallied 74 team points to finish behind North Central (123), University of Illinois-Chicago (116), and Olivet Nazarene (113). Aurora University finished just behind Wheaton with 71.5 team points.

Brett Haftner's victory in the 3,000 meters highlighted the performance for Wheaton. Hafner paced the field with a time of 8:29.42, over three seconds faster than North Central's Roger Klein.
Brendan Cole
earned a fourth place finish in the 400 meters with a time of 49.79 seconds. Derek Minkus was sixth in the same event with a time of 50.65 seconds. Tommy Cole was fourth in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.71 seconds. Sam Bertram was second in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 56.90 seconds. David Harmon was fifth, finishing in 58.16 seconds.
 
Wheatons's 4x400 meter relay team of Nate Annen, Kent Lindbergh, Nathan Knautz and Brendan Cole placed third with a time of 3:30.21 seconds.
Brendan Cole (PICTURED RIGHT) was third in the pole vault with a jump of 4.39 meters. Cole was also seventh in the long jump (6.43 meters). Christian Hollinger placed fifth in the shot put (14.90 meters) and 10th in the discus (41.68 meters). Noah Miller (44.27 meters) was seventh in the hammer throw
