Warrenville, Ill. - The Wheaton cross country teams competed at North Central College's Red/White Open on Thursday at St. James Farm Forest Preserve. The Wheaton women's team finished fourth in a field of seven teams. The Wheaton men finished third out of three teams.
Washington University-St. Louis scored 31 points in first place in the women's team standings. Northern Illinois finished second with 78 points, University of Chicago placed third with 80 points, Wheaton scored 107 points in fourth place, Augustana finished in fifth place with 126 points, North Central scored 141 points in sixth place and Moody Bible Institute finished seventh with 147 points.
Alyssa Robinson (PICTURED LEFT) was the top runner for the Thunder women's program in 20th place with a time of 18:46.2 on the three-mile course. Jacqueline Smith placed 23rd with a time of 18:56.1 and Allison Collins placed 26th in 19:00.9. Bridget Oslund ran a time of 19:05.5 in 27th place and Elise Topazian ran the course in 19:12.9 in 29th place. Emily Blom placed 33rd in 19:24.5 and Abby Amstutz placed 36th in 19:41.6
Washington University-St. Louis placed first in the men's race with 19 points. University of Chicago scored 44 points in second place and the Thunder men's team scored 73 points in third place.
Junior Andreas Geiger (PICTURED RIGHT) posted the best time of a Thunder runner on the three-mile course with an effort of 15:15.2 in 12th place. Seth Spykstra placed 16th in 15:25.8 and Teddy Stocking finished 17th in 15:32.0. Alex Sweatman finished 22nd in 15:52.2 and Tyler Jones placed 24th in 16:08.7 Luke Andersen ran the course in 16:10.4 in 25th place and Jacob Suiste posted an effort of 16:16.6 in 27th place.
