Mason, Ohio – The Wheaton women's cross country team competed among the top 32 teams in NCAA Division III on Saturday at the 2014 NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championships. Wheaton placed 19
th with 514 points.
Senior
Emma Shunk repeated as a Division III All-American with a fifth-place performance in the 275-woman field. Shunk posted a time of 21:45.3 on the 6K course for the highest-ever finish by a Wheaton women's cross country competitor at the Division III Championships.

Scott Bradley noted of Shunk's performance, "Emma is a consistent runner and has worked very hard. She did a great job today, a top-five finish is a really remarkable accomplishment. All of her coaches are happy for her and proud of her. We are glad that she could finish off a great career in the way that she did."

Jessica Hawthorne posted a time of 23:12.1 to finish 97
th for the Thunder. Junior
Hannah Barbour posted a time of 23:34.9 in 148
th place. Junior
Jordan Tuin placed 212th in 24:08.3 and teammate
Abby Bullmore was just behind her in 213
th place with an effort of 24:09.0. Sophomore
Anna Trujillo ran the 6K course in 24:33.4 to finish 246
th and freshman Rebecca Marcotte posted a time of 24:49.2 in 260
th place.
"I was really proud of our team. Both for how all they accomplished this season and how they raced today," noted Bradley after the race." He continued, "Emma was the only member of our team with experience at the National meet and I felt like nobody really let the pressure of this meet get to them and they performed very well."
Johns Hopkins won the women's race with 87 points, MIT finished second with 112 points and St. Lawrence scored 138 points in third place.
