Wheaton, Ill.- Wheaton College freshman Julie Buursma has been named the CCIW's Co-Player of the Week for women's tennis, as announced by the conference on Wednesday afternoon.  Playing primarily at number-six singles, Buursma has earned a 6-0 record this season and has helped the Thunder to a 5-1 overall record.  Buursma is also 5-1 while playing mainly at number-one doubles.

Buursma went 3-1 this past week as the Thunder split a pair of matches against UW-La Crosse and UW-Whitewater.  She was undefeated with a pair of straight set victories at singles and paired with Sarah Ray to split at number-one doubles.
