Wheaton, Ill. – On Tuesday March 20 work resumed on upgrades at Legion Field in Carol Stream, Illinois, the home of Thunder baseball. The work that began last week includes installation of eight light poles and state-of-the art A-Turf® artifical turf. The turf and lights are expected to be completed, with hopes that the Thunder will begin play at the newly re-named Lee Pfund Stadium at Legion Field againt North Park on April 7.

The addition of lights and artificial turf is combined with construction this spring of new dugouts, a suspended cable backstop and a wall as part of the backstop.

Fundraising is ongoing for the next phase of the project, which includes chairback seating for 242 spectators, a pressbox, restrooms, a locker room and a concession stand.
