Final Results
Kenosha, Wis. - The Wheaton College women's swim team won its 15th-straight team title and the men finished second with the conclusion of the three-day CCIW Championships on Saturday.
On the women's side, Wheaton kept its conference streak rolling with 899.5 points. Carthage College (752.5) narrowly edged out Illinois Wesleyan University (750) for second place. North Central College was fourth (336), Augustana College fifth (298), Millikin University sixth (205) and Rose-Hulman Institute seventh (155).
The Thunder women came away with four event wins on Saturday.
Jamie Walitsch highlighted the effort by setting a new school and CCIW record in the 200-yard backstroke (2:03.54).
Moire Yue took the 100-yard freestyle in 51.76.
Carlie Herich (17:28.14) and
Lauren Jurgens (17:31.83) dueled in the 1,650-yard freestyle and finished 1-2. The 400-yard freestyle relay team (Yue,
Kelly Ormond,
Ali Offerdahl,
Lauren Jurgens) was also a winner in 3:31.63.
Nine members of the Wheaton women's squad earned All-Conference status -

The Carthage men's team won its fifth-straight title, scoring 920.5 points. Wheaton was second at 886.5 points. They were followed by Illinois Wesleyan (471.5), Rose-Hulman (403), Augustana (372.5), Millikin (154) and North Central (151).
Wheaton's men capped the weekend by winning the last event of the day, taking the 400-yard freestyle relay (
Wills Francis,
Tim Walker,
Dan Nahigian,
Hayes Wilkerson) in 3:06.17.
Korey Clement was runner-up in the 1,650-yard freestyle (16:32.28) and
Wills Francis was also second in the 100-yard freestyle (46.67).
A total of nine Thunder men were named All-Conference, including

After the second day of competition, the Wheaton College men's and women's swim teams both led the field in the three-day CCIW Championships on Friday.
Wheaton's men remain at the top of the heap with 649.5 points, with Carthage College narrowing the gap with a score of 633.5. Illinois Wesleyan University has 348.5, Augustana College has 282.5, Rose-Hulman Institute stands at 271, while Millikin University and North Central College each have 89.
The Thunder earned four victories in Friday's finals.
Hayes Wilkerson and
Wills Francis were both multi-winners on the day. Wilkerson (PICTURED BELOW) won the 200-yard freestyle (1:44.14) and was part of the 800-yard freestyle relay (Wilkerson,
Korey Clement,
David Brown,
Carl Sveen) that finished in 6:58.12. Francis came away with 100-yard backstroke title (51.14) and was likewise lead leg of the 200-yard medley relay (Francis,
Mike Placeway,
Hal Hackett,
Dan Nahigian) which set a new CCIW meet record with a mark of 1:32.98.
The Wheaton women made up a 27-point deficit and now lead Illinois Wesleyan 614-554. Carthage is right there as well at 537, followed by North Central (247), Augustana (223), Millikin (137) and Rose-Hulman (98).
Jamie Walitsch garnered a first place in the 400-yard IM (4:34.54). The Thunder also got runner-up showings by
Moire Yue in the 100-yard butterfly (57.82) and
Lauren Jurgens in the 200-yard freestyle (1:54.83). The 800-yard freestyle relay (Jurgens,
Sarah Pankratz,
Carlie Herich,
Laura Westfall) was also second in a time of 7:46.00.

The Wheaton College men's and women's swim teams stood in first and second, respectively, after the first day of the three-day CCIW Championships on Thursday.
"We have been swimming exceptionally well with most everyone on the team getting PRs [personal records] in their swims by good margins," said Wheaton head coach
Jon Lederhouse. "There is tough competition, so we will need to continue these good results all the way through Saturday night in order to finish well."
The Thunder men are on top with 321 points. They are followed by Carthage College (283), Illinois Wesleyan University (156), Augustana College (138), Rose-Hulman Institute (113), Millikin University (56) and North Central College (45).
Wheaton earned a win in the 200-yard freestyle relay (
David Brown,
Wills Francis,
Tim Walker,
Dan Nahigian) with a time of 1:24.08. The Thunder also had a pair of runners-up in photo finishes. Francis was second in the 50-yard freestyle (21.07), losing out on first by only 0.02 seconds.
Korey Clement had the same result in the 500-yard freestyle (4:41.47) and was also edged by 0.02. The 400-yard medley relay (Francis,
Mike Placeway,
Hal Hackett, Nahigian) rounded out with second place in 3:27.33.
On the women's side, Illinois Wesleyan is the early leader at 285 points. Wheaton (258) and Carthage (247) are right on their heels while the rest of the field is further behind with Augustana (121), North Central (108), Millikin (79) and Rose-Hulman (63).
Moire Yue (PICTURED RIGHT) was a winner for the Wheaton side, taking the 50-yard freestyle in an NCAA B cut time of 23.87. She was also part of the victorious 200-yard freestyle relay (Yue,
Marcey Wennlund,
Kelly Ormond,
Ali Offerdahl) that swam a mark of 1:36.75.
Lauren Jurgens added a second-place showing in the 500-yard freestyle (5:05.24).
