Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton College women's tennis team placed four players on the 2012 CCIW All-Conference Team on Monday.

Thunder head coach
Jane Nelson was recognized as the CCIW Coach of the Year. It is the fourth consecutive year that Nelson has been recognized with the award from the league's coaches and the seventh time she has won the award since 2003. Nelson has guided Wheaton to a league-best 18 CCIW Championships in her career, including the last eight conference titles in a row. As head coach of the Wheaton women's tennis program since 1986 Nelson's program is the second-most successful female sport in CCIW history with 18 conference crowns, behind only the Wheaton women's swimming programs 20 CCIW Championships.
Junior
Sarah Ray (PICTURED ABOVE LEFT) earned First Team All-Conference Team recognition for the second consecutive year. Ray posted a 10-4 record at number-one singles this fall, including a 5-1 mark in the CCIW regular season. She also was 11-2 at number-one doubles in the fall, including a 6-0 record in CCIW play and the conference championship at number-one doubles.
Kirsten Boyer (PICTURED RIGHT) was a First Team All-CCIW honoree, earning All-Conference recognition after earning a spot on the Second Team last fall. Boyer posted a 6-2 record at number-two singles this fall, including a 4-0 mark in the CCIW regular season. She was 5-3 in doubles play, with a 3-1 record in CCIW action. Boyer earned conference titles earlier this month at both number-two singles and number-two doubles.
Senior
Marissa Shults (PICTURED LEFT) was tabbed as a Second Team All-Conference performer, winning CCIW Championships this fall at number-four singles and number-two doubles. Shults posted an 8-2 record in singles play this fall, with a 6-0 conference record and she was 6-2 in doubles action, with a 4-0 mark in CCIW matches.
Thunder freshman
Julie Buursma (PICTURED RIGHT) earned Second Team All-CCIW honors. Buursma earned CCIW Championships this fall at number-six singles and number-one doubles. Buursma compiled a record of 13-1 in singles play this fall with a 6-0 CCIW record in the regular season. She also teamed with
Sarah Ray for the majority of the fall at number-one doubles with an 11-2 record in doubles play and a 6-0 mark in CCIW matches.
