Nate Frank is a former All-American and Academic All-American for Wheaton
Wheaton, Ill. – Wheaton College head men's basketball coach Mike Schauer announced on Tuesday that Nate Frank has been named as a part-time assistant coach for the Thunder. Frank served as a full-time assistant coach at Wheaton from 2006-09, leaving that role in May 2009 to put more focus on his business ventures. He has also had roles as a part-time assistant coach from 1996-98 and again from 2003-06.

Frank played at Wheaton under former head coach Bill Harris from 1991-95, earning All-American honors at center in the 1993-94 season. He is fourth on Wheaton's career rebounding list with 928 caroms and is 20th on the all-time scoring list with 1,446 career points. He graduated from Wheaton in 1995 with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications and was named as a Second Team GTE Academic All-American as a senior in 1994-95. Following his playing career at Wheaton, Frank played professional basketball in Ireland (1995-96).

Schauer says of Nate Frank, "Obviously I am very excited to have Nate returning to the program. He and I were teammates during Bill Harris' first year at Wheaton in 1991-92. We served together as assistants under Coach Harris as well. Nate is a close friend and someone for whom I have deep respect.” Schauer concludes, “The bottom line is that Nate is an excellent coach who will make us better. He is a talented person and a winner."

Frank notes, “I'm very pleased to be a part of Mike's staff and to have the opportunity to continue on with Wheaton Basketball. Mike and I played together here and now to coach together will be a lot fun. Coach Harris laid a strong foundation to bring a National Championship back to Wheaton, and I'm confident that under Mike's leadership and with the great group of guys we have here, we can regularly be in the title hunt. It'll be exciting to play a role in that effort.”
