COMPLETES MEN'S RESULTS
Chicago, Ill. – The Thunder track and field teams competed at the Chicagoland Outdoor Track and Field Championships this weekend at the University of Chicago's Haydon Track. The Thunder women's team was sixth of 21 teams and the Thunder men finished seventh in a 20-team field.
The next scheduled event for the Thunder track and field teams is Wheaton's "Twilight Meet" next Saturday. Throwing events will begin at 1 PM at the Lawson Field throws area on the Wheaton campus and running events will begin at 3:30 PM at McCully Stadium.
WHEATON TWILIGHT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
At the Chicagoland Championships this weekend, University of Chicago won the women's competition with 150 points, Lewis University scored 94 points in second place, North Central finished third with 90 points, Carthage was fourth with 85 points, UIC was fifth with 75 points, the Wheaton women's program scored 68 points in sixth place, DePaul scored 56 points in seventh place and Olivet Nazarene was eighth with 36 points.
Senior
Stephanie Solari won the women's javelin throw with an effort of 38.78-meters that set a new facility record at Chicago's Haydon Track. Solari finished fourth in the women's hammer throw with a toss of 44.83-meters, as she established a new school record in the event for the second consecutive week. Junior
Lauren Hutson scored 3,660 points to finish third in the two-day women's heptathlon. Senior
Brandi McNeil finished third in the women's shot put with a heave of 12.21-meters.
Freshman
Renee Bettinger finished third in the women's 100-meter dash with a school-record time of 12.30-seconds. Senior
Michelle Cameron posted a time of 2:23.92 to finish third in the in the women's 800-meter run, while sophomore Tiffany Overlein recorded a time of 1:10.21 to finish fifth in the women's 400-meter hurdles. Sophomore
Jennifer Parisi finished third in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:41.23 and senior
Brooke Zeller was fourth in the women's 10,000-meter run in 39:22.29.
North Central finished atop the men's standings with 175.5 points, University of Chicago was second with 105.5 points, Lewis University was third with 88 points, Harper College took fourth place with 76 points, UIC was fifth with 69 points, College of DuPage scored 69 points in sixth place, the Wheaton men's program scored 50 points in seventh place and Loyola University was eighth with 40 points.
Senior
David Larson finished second in the men's pole vault with a height of 4.70-meters that provisionally qualified him for the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships in May. Freshman
David Musick finished fifth in the men's long jump with a leap of 6.51-meters, and junior
Aaron Woodard tied for sixth in the men's high jump with a leap of 1.76-meters.
Senior
Jordan Schirman finished second in the men's 400-meter hurdles, with a time of 56.12-seconds. Junior
Brian Wurtz posted a time of 31:16.83 to finish fourth in the men's 10,000-meter run and
Andrew Redmann was fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with an effort of 9:54.15.Junior
Clayton Loy posted a time of 4:05.21 to finish sixth in the men's 1,500-meter runs.
