Kansasville, Wis. -- Three days after wrapping up its two-day stay at ONU's Bill Johnson Memorial, the Wheaton men's golf team headed north across state lines to take part in the annual Midwest Region Fall Classic hosted by Benedictine University. The large event was held at Brighton Dale Links in Wisconsin and was scheduled to consist of two 18-hole rounds over the course of Friday and Saturday. But today's second round was interrupted by lightning and severe weather, so the tournament was changed to a single-round scoring format and only Friday's results were counted in the official tabulation. Five golfers competed in this weekend's Classic for Wheaton, and a strong second-day showing for the Thunder group was unfortunately erased by the weather, meaning that Wheaton had to settle for a T-15th position in the 45-team field despite being in eighth place when Saturday's play was halted.
