Chicago, Ill. -- Ten days after traveling to North Park University for a regular season matchup, the Thunder men's basketball team returned to Chicago on Tuesday night for a CCIW Tournament quarterfinal against the Vikings. Wheaton entered this year's conference tournament as the #5 seed, while North Park earned the #4 seed and the accompanying hosting rights for this evening's game. After two exciting and high-scoring clashes in the past month, the squads saved their most dramatic battle for last, as tonight's meeting needed two overtime periods and over 200 total points to be decided. The home side eventually pulled out a hard-fought 107-100 victory to earn a 16th win of the year and advance to Friday's semifinal round, where the Vikings will take on the CCIW's regular season champion and tournament host, Illinois Wesleyan.
