    Wes Carlson was an outstanding tennis player for the Crusaders during the early 1930s. One of the early serve-and-volleyers, rangy Carlson won most of his matches as a freshman after claiming the No. 1 singles slot. He posted a sparkling 10-1 singles dual meet record as a junior and took the Little 19 Northern Sectional No. 1 singles trophy.
