Victor Hicks, a 1926 graduate, starred at Wheaton in football, basketball and tennis. He played halfback in football, guard on the basketball team and was a key contributor on the tennis squad. As a captain of the football team during his senior year, Hicks finished his fine career by being one of the best ground gainers and leaders on the team. He also kicked a 42-yard field goal, a record that stood for many seasons. Vic was also a captain on the basketball team where he was known for his excellent defensive work and capable teamwork.
