Steve Holland began his outstanding four-year career as a starting running back for the Crusaders in his freshman season. He received Second Team All-CCIW honors his freshman and junior years and earned First Team All-CCIW recognition his sophomore and senior years. While all four of his years showed impressive results, Steve’s senior season stands out. That year he was team captain and earned All-American honors for running an unprecedented 1,015 yards with 10 touchdowns on top of catching 14 passes for 135 yards with three touchdowns. His 1,015 yards was the top single-season rushing total in school history at the time. When he graduated, Steve held the record for Wheaton’s all-time leading rusher with 2,713 career rushing yards on 630 carries.
