Ron Pott earned All-American honors as a fullback for the Wheaton men's soccer team in 1958. Standing six-foot-four-inches, Ron Pott was an imposing figure for opponents. His teammate – goalkeeper Ray Adams notes, "Ron towered over most forwards on the opposing team and he used his height to his advantage." Adams continues, "Ron was an experienced fullback, had a great deal of savvy and knowledge for the strategy employed by the opposition." Adams concludes, "Ron had a cannon for a leg and it was strong with either foot - but his right foot was especially strong and he was capable of clearing the ball well beyond the midline."
