Pete Bylsma played wide receiver for Wheaton football from 1973-75 after transferring from the Air Force Academy. Bylsma caught 13 passes for 301 yards and 4 touchdowns as a sophomore. He earned All-CCIW first team honors the next two seasons, won the team’s MVP Award as a junior, and All-State College Division honors as a senior. Bylsma caught 51 passes for 690 yards and 7 touchdowns in 1974, including a CCIW and school record 16 receptions vs. Millikin. In 1975, Bylsma caught 57 passes for 642 yards and 7 touchdowns and ranked second in the NCAA Division III and the CCIW in receptions per game and total receptions. Bylsma completed his career with 121 receptions for 1,633 yards and 18 touchdowns, school records at the time. He also was voted to the 1975 Academic All-State team.
